Did anyone else have a busy day today? I had practically no down time at all. A couple of times I would get a ping mere seconds after rating the previous pax. I had two Select and one surge trip. Everyone was nice, including the drunk dude, and I have a 5.0 for today (last I checked). No tips, though.

Tomorrow will probably suck.

They moved the guarantees for the week to later than previously, which threw off my schedule. I don't like driving downtown after dark, especially if there is an event, and as I'm approaching old geezerhood, I can't do much more than 4-5 hours without my legs hurting.

The Woodlands is dead when I say that you probably could go 60 down the waterway Avenue and not worry about hitting anyone
I moved my loitering area to coughcoughcough somewhere else. The maps Uber sends out showing the hot areas helped out.

I don't think anyone honked at me all day, either. In Houston. That's just not normal.

This is normal, not because you are old. Different muscles are being used in your legs, back, etc, that you wouldn't normally use. Think of it like going to the gym, your legs will hurt, but will be stronger once the heal. If you are consistent for a couple of weeks, you won't have pains while doing the same amount of time.

Yeah, my right thigh muscle is going to end up much larger than my left.

Nope I barely got any pings and couldn't hit my guarantee. Also think uber counted a canceled ride as a zero rating. Awesome night -.-

Oh and I loved the woman who requested a ride from Minute Maid park in the 5th inning, and after I Drove there and called her she explained to me how the game wasn't even over yet and wouldn't end until 10:00 which means she wouldn't even be out until 10:30. Then she said she had only been trying to "schedule" a ride. First off, it's baseball - you don't know when the game will end. Second, people leave early - it's a Monday night after all. Third, it doesn't take 30 mins to get out of MMP. Fourth, you can't schedule a ride. So I said ok just cancel and she goes "yes cancel please". Ugh so I canceled from my end. She was utterly clueless. And to put a cherry on top, I think that's the request that registered as a zero rating.

So yeah my night was terrible. Oh and on the drive back west where I live I got a woman...named "Lady"...that spoke no English and put her pin on the complete wrong side of I-10. So I wasted ten minutes driving in circles, attempting to understand wtf she was saying, until she finally handed the phone to someone who spoke English who explained where she was - far from me. So I had to just chalk it up as a loss and told him to tell her to request another uber.

Awesome night. Think I made like $3/hour. And lost my sanity.

Bukrub - I know. I have taken some of the advice here and I set a timer on my fitbit when I pull up and don't see anyone. I just had somewhat of a guilty conscience last night and was trying to give people the benefit of the doubt. My mistake. We already get taken advantage of enough as it is.

I used to call the rider couple of minutes after I arrived the pick up locations to remind the rider that I have arrived. I stopped doing that now because I felt I was taken advantage by the stupid riders. I had few ride request in the last few months that the riders called me few minutes after they requested the ride and told me I need you to come pick me up in 30 minutes. What I did to the last stupid rider was to drive to the pick up location and wait 5 minutes then cancel the trip with the reason of rider no show. He was stupid enough not to cancel the ride himself. As far as wrong pick up locations enter by the riders, I would say at least 30% of the trips that I had which had inaccurate pick up locations. Uber needs to either educate the riders better or make the app more user friendly (idiot proof)!

If you get the Uber guarantee texts; the one's with the new style map, have you tried hanging out in the red and dark blue locations?

As predicted, today was rather pitiful. And to make it worse, my last ride was to Minute Maid and I took 288 south to home in Pearland. It took 90 minutes because of some accident. It took over an hour to get from MM to Holly Hall.

The Sirius XM channel for Houston traffic (136) said an 18 wheeler had caught fire and was blocking the right lane and still hadn't been removed, but when I got to the split for 288 and 610, the traffic magically cleared up, and nothing was blocking the road.

My last run went to Minute Maid as well. I caught a run out of IAH to the Galleria. Pax asked if I was interested and waiting 5 minutes to take him and a couple other people to Minute Maid. Just as he said, he and his guests were in the car in under 5 minutes. I was amazed that Memorial is a pretty clean drive with light traffic. Made it in 20 minutes. At 5pm. Still a shitty day. Netted 88 bucks.

This last trip took an hour and five minutes. I picked them up in the Medical Center, drove them to the Westin in the Galleria so they could drop off their stuff, then to Minute Maid. I wanted to take Memorial, but the pax, apparently being frequent travelers to Houston and experts on the local traffic, insisted I take Westheimer.

Yes I was Rockin and Rolling Monday, long trips too. I didn't start until 1pm but no down time at all.

A quick vent before I go to sleep. I hate driving in the Medical Center. Had a pax with a drop off address on Pressler, but said I just missed her stop while we're still on Holcombe. Had a pickup address on Bates (based on the pin drop in Google maps), but the pax actually wanted to be picked up on Fannin and canceled in frustration after texting me.
