I did get a $5 cancel fee but did Lyft actually call 2 drivers?

I pulled up right as they got in the 1st ride.

How was he able to text YOU if he got into a different Lyft?

Was he alone or with another rider?

There was another rider so that makes me suspicious. After he texted he cancelled so don't know what they did.

I suspect Lyft 2 was actually Uber (and they got there first).

What's funny is I could see his little person icon and then the minute the car pulled away the person disappeared.

Then the text and the cancel fee.

Oh well, paid more than the min fare and I got an excellent long trip.

Lyft is habitually dispatching 2 drivers now. You see it more often on scheduled ride pickups and PT time.

The $5 was paid because of passenger cancellation. Lyft would see which driver is likely to get there faster and cancel on the losing one. You can call their CSR and they will tell you you won't be paid the fee because the ride was dispatched to a closer driver.

All I know is I was making damn sure I wasn't the one cancelling. I was willing to drive Uber all day with that Lyft ride still counting down.

Lyft shyfty
they do send 2 drivers on occasion but as long as you get paid your 5$ for arriving who cares
often the system cancels when they make it look like the pax cancels
you just never can trust them
