Just look up old threads. Also don't forget to add lube as one of your expenses. The pain is still there but it's not as bad.I should be receiving my TLC in the mail by next week, realistically if I rent a car for 400 a week, and I decide to work 40-50 hours a week, what numbers am I looking at ? Also any tips or advice would be highly appreciated.
So you made $1300 in 70 hours? Dude, wtf are you driving? That is bottom 5% of the hierarchy.you gotta work 70 hours man last i week i work 70 hours i made 800 because my expense was 500, but this week its not looking so good.
renting for $400 is too much

let me tell u something man just rent and see if this is for u , im renting because i am a student and i can quit anytime i want . if u finance ur stuck with the car for minimum 3 years and this job trust me u dont even make minium wage after taxes. So I'm a frequent Uber/lyft user .. I'll talk to the drivers and they say they usually make 1500 a week. Some have said they make close to 2200 (I find that statement a bit harder to believe than 1500) , but what made me consider this business is the flexibility and having no boss. So you guys are saying renting truly sucks, how about financing. Would anyone say it's worth it to finance or not even then ?
The thing with uber drivers is most aren't very good with simple math.So I'm a frequent Uber/lyft user .. I'll talk to the drivers and they say they usually make 1500 a week. Actually KevinB is right, except he left out the part after taxes. If math is done correctly it's actually $8.00-10.00/hr.Hope your joking
this is after they took out car depreciation out from the equation right.Actually KevinB is right, except he left out the part after taxes. If math is done correctly it's actually $8.00-10.00/hr.
Everyone else is in denial or want to show their girlfriends how much of a bawler they are driving UBER

"Zoepf said he would be updating the CEEPR paper, but in the meantime he recalculated the figures using a methodology suggested by Hall, and found that the median profit was $8.55 per hour, rather than $3.37, and only 8% of drivers lose money on on-demand platfor"

I was averaging 28 an hour last year Jan -July using ONLY Uber. If you have at least 2 apps and you are doing only entry level, you should be doing at least 23 an hour before expenses unless you are simply incompetent. That sounds about right
18-23 for UberX, 20-25 for yellow
It should be. The 8% that's losing money are people who drive older cars that require more maintenance work, etc...this is after they took out car depreciation out from the equation right.
