it's Friday. nothing like you've seen in awhile. puny surge at busy times and nothing much all day long.

I haven't driven today n enjoying few drinks into the night.

I'm currently staying in dtla n can't remember any Fridays as quiet as today. normally, I hear sirens helicopters tire screeching fire crackers popping here n there.
nada tonight. so very quiet.

embrace yourselves for a while, as this may last for many months to come.

cancel all reservations for vacations or if enough saved, take time off during slow months. up to you.

not going to ant all day on base fare. just can't do it.

personally I'm going to spend time catching up with missed fishing days, which means, more time with family.

what's your plan for the slow season?
this slowing can actually last a very long time. imo

Food delivery demand just dropped off a cliff this week as colleges went on summer break. Never seen it so slow in my 9 months working. Good thing I've paid off all of my cc debts and my car so there's less pressure on me to make money. I could just chill until school is back. I guess if there's no rides, all the Uber ants will turn to delivery too. So we'd have lower demand yet higher supply. Ouch. I thought with $6 gas prices, there would be more business for the drivers still working but nope.

it is why I was calling for $10 gas. though it won't go that high, as crazy it sounds, it's necessary to have fuel inefficient drivers will quit.

I rather pay high gas prices with high surge, not the other way around.

The gray areas that claim 鈥渟horter wait times鈥 is a bunch of BS. Show me a map and only change it if a surge is being applied. The gray areas will become over run with drivers and you end up waiting longer.
Grey areas do represent higher demand. just not enough to trigger surge.
I rather sit there for a chance at multi-ping rather than blank areas where I get a dedicated long trip.
