Hello!

New uber driver here. I signed up for uberx/pool 2 weeks ago (after already doing eats for a month). In these 2 weeks doing exclusively uberx/pool i always received a boost.

Today is a Monday and I noticed I no longer receive the boost, effectively being paid 20-40% less on rides. In prior 2 weeks i would average $27-$30 an hour. Now, without this boost, i average $18-$20, which is...too low for the hassle.

Question is - any reason why the boost disappeared? Are they trying to assess my willingness to drive at different pay levels? Or was it a bug aftrr adding uberX/pool to an existing eats account.

Thanks!

You’ve figured it out!

They lure you in and then change the pay.

If you keep driving, mission accomplished by them. There is no benefit to being a long time driver (outside of the old timers who give up 20% instead of 25)

You might get boost again if there is some sort of event where they need a ton of drivers on the road. Or bad weather.

However the gravy train with biscuit wheels is rather short lived.

That's called the new customer promotion. They want to entice you into working for them, and then the boost/surge is pulled. You fell for Click Bait! LOL.:confused::confused::confused:

For last two weeks I did't even bother with 1.1 boost (UBEReats) simply with the new pay wasn't worth it. With 1.2 I did only request with less than 5 minutes drive to the restaurant, anything more declined. This week my boost is 1.2 -1.3. Some guys are on 1.1 to 1.2.

I worked for at least 1.3. Should we work for 1.1?

I am doing eats not at 1.3
That's what I said. For 1.1 I don't even touch it. I'm talking about Mississauga. If you are in Toronto maybe you are getting 1.3. But in Mississauga it would be the lower boost at 1.1. Most of the guys are sitting at home with 1.1 boost. And looks like this week their boos was increased. That's including me. Just look at delivery time from the restaurants at this time. 25-35 minutes from restaurant just around the corner. Boost is 1.2, not everybody is stupid to drive to the restaurant 10-15 minutes and than make 2 KM delivery for $5.50.

mine is 1.1 as well at Mississauga.Maybe it is not busy there
Mine is 1.2 right now in the same area. I went on line at apr. same time few days ago with boost 1.1 just to see. 4 pings in maybe 5 minutes. Ignored all of them. Not busy, or they want to see how low people go with pay.

I guarantee that if I go online right now. It will not take than 3 minutes.

Ubereats is my main income. So I have no choice but bare with them. I need to work more smart now to make same income as before

I can work 1.1 before but now I would only work at least 1.3
I agree with you my friend. I do the same. However I will work with 1.2 boost but nothing more than five minutes drive to the restaurant. I met one of the drivers I he told me that he is getting all the requests 10-15 minutes drives to the restaurants. I told him that most of the guys are declining including me. And he should the same unless he is willing to work for pennies. I think he is new.

Why do you think Mcdonalds delivery is not available right now for almost 2 hours? No drivers to deliver in time!!! UBER f...ed themselves with this pay scam.

I never work in downtown, just south of 401. You really make very very hatd money in downtown.I spent first whole year for eats in downtown. It is a nightmare.
I understand. Few times I ended up in "downtown" in Mississauga. With the same boost. Never again. I don't leave my area anymore. I also have option stop at home because where I live. 30 restaurants in 3.5 KM radius.
