NOI isn't the Black Panthers. Different organizations.

NOI collaborated with the KKK and American Nazi Party. Malcom X left NOI in dissent over this. Yes, they are a racist organization, listed as a hate group by several anti-racist watchdogs. They hate jews, asians, and others. Doesn't change my positive view of the BLM movement tho... nothing to do with NOI.

See I'm going to be honest here. I warned my eastsiders about the protest that was supposed to happen in Seattle. They all had the same response. ( Eye rolls ) and "What now?" I tell em BLM. Then their response is "Ah ****!" They said that when you have a march every freaking week and seemingly just to spoil every local event ( Comic Con) their message loses its impact and point. They all said if the police nationwide did a "sick day." Within 10 minutes anarchy would rein and the would be on the phone in seconds begging the police to come rescue them. Has any one ever heard of a movie called The Purge? They also pointed out that most, but not all of these leaked police videos of an innocent getting shot, always start mid way through an already escalation of an altercation with an officer.

I agree with them. I'm barely called a person of color (Italian) but I know if I'm talking to a police officer, even it's just casual chat, keep my hand out of my pockets, keep them visible, no sudden movements, and if they tell me to do something, do it. Yes cops are a bit trigger happy nowadays but then I would be too if I knew I was a target just walking down the street, sitting in my car, or just sitting in a Tacoma Starbucks having morning coffee with my fellow officers.
