Would taking a higher commission really be a price cut? I don't think so; it's just Uber going a little deeper into our pockets (replace pockets with whatever other word you want).
Yes, a ton of drivers would quit (60%?!!?), and yes, the new generation of drivers would flood in right away. But that 1-4 day transition period will be sweet sweet surge heaven. Maybe. Probably not.

I'm driving this summer, with or without uber. If they have people that know how to run a car for less then me...bring it. Looks like they're looking for idiots that don't know how to run transpotation. If that's what they want, there will be a huge pool of smart drivers, available, for someone to tap into...

In San Diego, the already started a pay scale for new drivers. 30% goes to 25% and then at 40 rides for the week, they finally get to 20%. Smart people are not going to drive at those type of commission rates.
