My friend Fairley new to Rideshare got scammed two days ago, some one ping then they call you like a professional uber support guy, and tell you, you have a complain and work you out , after hear your story, then he says i will call you back, calls back n person offers $60.00 for your troubles and you will be happy, at this time some how scammer control your phone and ask you to take a picture, then sends a temporary pin to enter ,
Then gives you a credit card # stating that's your gift card for $60.00 , now when you entered that # actually you are transferring your hard earned money to Him . It's gone. Never change your pin. When this happens, stop the car and call the support yourself using your app.
The pickup you received, he says he will cancel it it won't change anything in your ratings.
Be safe.

I was scammed once by these morons. Never give them your phone number or username and password. After I was scammed the first time, the other scammers I tried to take money from them like getting cancel fees from them. There was a cheapo who contacted uber and took away the cancel fee from me, then I contacted uber and uber gave me back thhe cancel fee.

You should go to the green light hub and get your money back. Uber can give you the money back the first time you get scammed but the money that you got ripped off of will show on your 1099 form in addition to the money that uber gives you. So you are going to be paying taxes on the amount you got scammed out of.

Similar scenario for me, in Brooklyn, ***** ass had a 4.46 rating and I know I know, I should have known better, but slow night. He called me, and said I got a complaint and needed to verify my account. He called me and said he is from Uber support. Uber’s switchboard system calls from customer dont last beyond 2-3 mins. Next, when a black guy calls with a good command of the English language and not some Indian or Filipino or African, that is another red flag. And third, he called back from a Garden City number. Uber is based in cali, so unless its a 202 number, its a scammer. And when he asked for my details, I sent him a text with a dick pic. And told him I’d find him and I will. Those Google and Internet calls are hooked to a real cell number so based on tower activity should be easy to find.

That's interesting. All of the scammers I dealt with had a 5.0 rating. The first one sounded like a black guy, and the only one to steal from me. The second one was an Indian guy and I started cursing at him. After that I try to keep them on as long as I can so I can get a cancel fee. I once started a trip with one of the scammers and he asked me "why did you start the trip" and then he cancelled lol.
