Hey guys! Another post from me. I am enjoying reading all of our ideas and opinions. A friend and I came up with some points that would improve driver experience for Uber/Lyft/any other ride share app. Out of these points below, which do you think you would want and why? Would love to hear any and all opinions! Here to chat and listen :)
  • Being able to schedule rides and block out certain time you'll be driving
  • During these specific times, be able to know exactly how much you will be making
  • Being able to have a passenger both ways in a ride so you are making 2x the regular amount
  • Have more control in what rides you pick up/what routes you take

Would love to hear any and all opinions! Here to chat and listen :)

The last bullet point maybe.

The first three Uber will just manipulate to cheat the driver out of more money.
The second one is also really good, if they can promise an exact amount of payment it's kinda hard to cheat drivers. I think a big problem with Uber is that you don't know how much you're actually going to make, so it's easy to feel cheated by Uber's system. Obviously the share they take out of the ride is a problem, but I think it just really affects us not knowing how much we make AND being hit with a large cut in that profit we do make.

Kinda makes it hard to make a living out of Uber tbh, I really don't know how much I'll make. Will I be able to pay off the bills I need to this week?

Personally I think Uber will just cap it at a rate lower than what we could potentially make... and quite possibly lower than minimum wage... ...we work for snakes, this is their game.. ..not ours.. ..

Example:
If there is a guarantee for lets say $100 for a specific block of 6 - 8 Hrs, but then you get a long trip to San Antonio, which pays almost $100 and takes 1.5 Hrs.. ..the rest of the block you work for practically nothing and won't get paid fairly for the additional rides.

I see what you're saying, I think Uber ride are too unpredictable themselves to have a fair way to get a guaranteed rate over the whole day.

I could see the minimum guarantee pay work much better if its like per hour. For example, being guaranteed $25 a hour would give me some peace of mind cus even on slow days I know I'll be making something.
