Thank you to all the veterans out there. You took a sacred oath to defend this great nation and I honor that single act of courage that shaped your life forever. I value your service, I honor your selflessness, and I salute you for your sacrifice.

My father-in-law (whom I have never met because he passed away from cancer before I met my husband) was in the Battle At Leyte Gulf which has memorials for that battle all over the country. His ship was sunk and one of the crewmen pulled him out of the hatch (against regulation). They spent 3 days in the ocean waiting to be rescued. I had the privilege of meeting the man who pulled out my father-in-law. As soon as he saw my husband, he knew exactly who he was because he looks so much like his father. Had he not rescued my father-in-law, I would never have met the wonderful man I married.

Again, thank you veterans for your sacrifices. I value my freedoms.

If only more Americans shared your sentiment our country might not be in the great peril it is at the moment.

As for the Alamo, you can sense the spirits of the men who died there as you stand in the great hall. Definitely worth a visit.

I read about that battle. There was 1 part of it where the Americans had only a bunch of little boats against these Japanese big boats but the Americans said "we gotta' fight" so they did. The Americans got a bunch of their boats blowed up but they made the Japanese run anyhow. That Japanese cdr. mysta' seen that and said "These emmurr ephers are crazy, I better GTFO before they blow my ass up".

Like those guys at that part of the Leyte battle or even those crazy guys from up North somewhere who fixed bayonets at Gettysburg and ran screaming at those Confederates. They knew they couldn't run so they hadta' fight. It was the same at the Alamo. The Mexicans did win that 1, but from what I read about it, it cost the Mexicans allot & it made it harder for them later.

It's funny when you read about what the enemies have said about the Americans they fought. They say nothing scares them & they're crazy b|c they just keep fighting you & coming at you.
