Bank error in your favor!

I just got a mystery payment from Uber.

No explanation. I regularly cover Prop 22 by hundreds of dollars. I haven't had added earnings since March or before.

Maybe this is correcting a longstanding miscalculation of Prop 22. Maybe it's an error. Maybe I'll never know.

Could be avoiding a lawsuit for their clueless support finally realizing the LA minimum wage went up a while ago.

I turn my Uber Pro card on (only on Monday morning) to top it off with enough to cover my gas for the week. My plan was to switch back to Uber Wallet when I hit $70. Was almost there when this came in, so it was cashed out instantly. Now I have enough to cover gas for a couple of months. LOL!
I just remember receiving this email from Doordash a few days ago. It's just a small mileage pay increase. I guess all the prop 22 drivers, aka ants, got a tiny pay raise. Every bit helps I guess.

I assume this has to do with IRS mileage deduction went up so they adjusted Prop 22 as well, I got $3 even though I did like 2 rides in the past two weeks.

But still, until Prop 22 pays IRS deduction rate plus a fair wage while taking unavoidable dead miles into consideration, **** it.
If that's 4 cents a mile catchup for this year Uber was paying up for 5,866.5 miles of barely making the cut vs not making it with my $234.66. My odometer was around 33,400 on new years and now at 44,800 (11,400 so far total miles) seems about right Uber vs personal miles. Most of the time I cleared Prop 22 but had some little adjustments, some of those barely cleared it. Wonder if they'll add any more with the 2022 scenario and wording of the e-mail.
2022 is supposed to be 32 cents according to the treasurer link off the app notice. So no clue if it's to be continued or 1 payment.

Bigger your Prop 22 payment = more your worked for minimum wage. People that accepting minimum wage for one of the most risky job why not working in McDonald's for real ?

According to Uber, the adjustment is retroactive up to today so it's only one adjustment.

It's actually slightly better than minimum wage and we don't have to pay income taxes due to the mileage deduction. But I agree it's still terrible pay considering the risk of deaths and accidents. I should consider working at McDonalds. 😕

That extra 20% above minimum wage is pay for you to get home from middle of nowhere 20-30 miles from home couple times a week , so don't believe this extra 20% scam

Don't forget about wait time between trips, you don't get paid either but you are still technically working.

Also you don't even get $0.3 or $0.34 w/e reimbursement for all the dead miles. This is below minimal wage with no benefits.

Should be continued right? I only got 1.50, not sure how that covers all the trips I did in 2022.

The new minimum mileage rate will be applied going forward. Remember though, under P22, they have the right to average it out over all miles over 2 weeks.

That averaging also applies to 2022. So, if your mileage payouts during each 2 week pay period averaged over the 32 cent minimums, you get nothing extra. It's possible, maybe likely, that you only had about 75 miles that were underpaid. Either that or your payment was for something else and you haven't gotten the adjustment payment yet.
