I have over 1050 completed rides and about 9 months of driving. This morning I was getting ready to head out but when I clicked on the Uber app then a message appear. They informed me that they need to run a back ground check. Whats the deal?. I had one obviously before I first started with uber. Has this happen to anyone else? How long will this take? This company is sure screw up at times. Well guess it is time to head to the lake and do some fishing.

As a matter of fact yes. After I voiced my got headed thoughts and frustrations to Uber. I received an email from the company that does the back round check to let me know Uber was doing one. That's 2 in 2 months.

I mailed them saying I quit and asked to deactivate my account, then deleted the app. The next week, they "did an extra background check" and "fired" me. Lmao. Guess they're trying to say look investors, people aren't quitting, we're just choosy. Never mind my 4.83 rating, lol. I worked with a company that used to do something similar. If something quit, they'd schedule them for the next 3 days, which constitutes job abandonment here in California. That way they could show their parent company people weren't quitting. Oh, their parent company sold them eventually and they went bankrupt. Couldn't have happened to nicer people.

Why do they need to stop you from using the app while they run it? That makes no sense. Can't they run the background check 2 weeks before the old one expires so that if you pass there is no lapse in driving ability?

I've had 3 done in the last year. 2 in a 2 week period. The first found nothing but the 2nd found my apple core ticket from 2012. I'm guessing that's why the 3rd was run....looking for something deeper. Yes, I really got charged with throwing an apple core out the window
