Hi Uber drivers,

I'm a LA Cabbie driving in the SFV, and go down to Hollywood a lot. Did this for 3 years from 2009 to 2011 when nobody new of Uber and then after a two and half years of moving onto the other side of the country, I'm back driving cab again starting last month. The cab industry was "disrupted" in a major way thanks to Uber.

I have the Uber app and see A LOT of Uber drivers out there now. I'm here to provide info that I wish somebody told me what I first started. Luckily for me, I had fellow cabbies for that with years of experience. For Uber drivers here in LA, I reckon that you are learning as you go...?

Here is some info that you might find beneficial to start with.

Monday - Wednesday, don't bother coming out at nights. Unless there is a major event going on for some reason or a holiday, it is always dead. I'm looking at my app for the Hollywood area at 10:30 pm November 3, there are 8 UberX cars within a mile radius. Way more supply than demand. You might get a couple of pings close to 2 am from the bars, but those will be bullshit calls, meaning they will be under $5.

Of course, you can be lucky and get LAX later on, but that's all luck and chances are against you. I personally on Mon - Wed go home at 3 am. Only reason I come out at all is so I don't pay the lease out of pocket!

If any of you have any questions at all about the taxi business of faring people around, ask me and I'm more than happy to help out as much as I can.

Good luck everybody and remember, we don't do this to make a difference or change the world, but to make money.
Which cab company and what shift?
