The guy is going to get a 10k bonus from uber by the end of the month. And this is all the NYT can come up with. Meanwhile Lyft got back-to-back articles praising the bonuses they planned to give to about 2 drivers. Uber gave $500 to many, many drivers, not just to a select few, and all they get is a negative review from the NYT. Why does Lyft always get the candy?
He thought his Altima would last another 213k without breaking down. He thought the IRS wouldn't come for their cut this year?? I get what he's saying but he's too old to be so naive.
Great article. SMDH. It helped me this morning. I was going to drive, instead I will begin doing something that will get me out of this nightmare soon.
Remember uber is praying on the clueless "entrepreneurs" who goes out of his way and buys brand new vehicles. This is the biggest ponzi scheme anyone has ever seen. It will collapse at some point and once again nobody will go to jail.
The sad part about Uber is how many of us they deceived into joining this shithole. I feel for those guys still paying off that 2018 Accord and make chump change.
Mr. Ashlock spent a decade as a San Francisco cabdriver in the 1970s and 1980s as he sought to make a living as an artist. He recalls taking home about $500 a week, equivalent to $1,500 now. He bought gas for the cab but did not have to worry about repairs or upkeep.
But, but with Uber you're the boss.
