are you rejecting uber pool rides? uber pool is a nightmare, especially when you have to backtrack because the customer is on wrong side of street!

does anyone ever troll these uberpool users on twitter? it's so annoying when they complain about uberpool. i want to tell them to shut up and use uberx then.

Most of the time I decline pool. I live in the burbs, so I gamble on a pool going to the city when I begin in the a.m. But once I'm in the reward zone, I will decline pool unless I get 3 pool pings back to back. I will accept the 4th pool ping, but most of the time I get a X before that happens.

I sure am rejecting them all the time. I had a ping in DC last week from 3.8 pax. Couldn't pass this jerk. I accepted his request and texted him right away "Sorry, I need to cancel this because your rating is too low". This job doesn't have to boring, right? :D
I'm definitely going to use that one. Pool pax's get no respect. LOL!

I love receiving pool requests the more the merrier. When I have numerous individual pick ups and equal drop offs I feel like I am contributing to society and traffic flow, helping the environment and my fellow human beings.

Conversely I always REJECT all Entitled Sliver Spooned, UberX request with their dirty sawbuck tips who think they're special, think they deserve mobile transportation exclusive to their needs, think they have no responsibilities to living in a community.

Well not with me my friend, Not with me!

I put 1262 uber pool miles on my car last week and cleared $163 and feel worthy of societal membership :)

It depends. If I'm Gold & trying to hit numbers for next week then I will accept Pool, provided it's in the Reward Zone. I just play the Law of Averages. Short shit Pool rides give way to the Bethesda to Dulles ride. It all evens out in the end.

Caveats:
*If I have a passenger & I get a ping, I will add one and ONLY one extra passenger/trip.
*If I have a passenger and I'm downtown D.C. between 4:30 & 6:30 & the 2nd Pool ping goes off, in gridlock traffic the 2nd ping is S.O.L. I am not going 2 blocks in 20 minutes, Gold Incentives or not.

I've played by the rules accepted pings, only to get a message that I left earnings when i never got a ping and when i question them my acceptance for that day was always 79%..impossible.. ....so at this point I'm playing by my rules,no second pool riders period.

As a rule, I will not accept Uber Stool if I am in the City, as it is, during Rush Hour. Even if you are not in gridlocked traffic on Thirteenth at New York, odds are that if the second ping is Connecticut at K, you will be stuck dleaing with jaywalkers, in gridlock and behind bunched METRObusses there. Uber Stool accepted from Tenally, Wesley Heights, Chevy Chase, Wisconsin and Western, Cleveland or Woodley Park tends to take you into gridlock or through it.

If I am trying to reach a quota, I will take it in most parts of the suburbs if it is an Hour of Power. No Hour of Power? No Uber Stool. I do not like taking it during an Hour of Power in certain parts of North Arlington, as usually it is some cheap employer who is booking a ride for her domestic. Still, as a dispatcher used to say to a driver who complained about an illegal double: "You'll feel better when you have their money." Thus, I will accept the Uber Stool during an Hour of Power even in those parts of North Arlington.

Before Uber, it used to be that these employers paid for a cab to the bus stop on Lee Highway. Now that Uber Stool is cheaper than the bus or subway, the employers use Uber Stool. It benefits the domestic as well, she gets door-to-door service instead of having to wait for a bus and walk from the bus or subway stop to her door. The disadvantage is that since Uber tells the user that there is "no need to tip", the domestic does not get to pocket the tip that the employer used to give her to give to the cab driver. I suppose that even this has an advantage, as the employer no longer will accidentally learn that the domestic has been pocketing the tip and fire her; thus allowing the domestic to remain employed.

I accepted UberPool yesterday going home via destination filter her pickup was less than a mile off my commute route and her apartment too was less than a mile off my commute home. If the Poop rider is behind me or more than 1 mile off my commute route they can kiss it. ACRO or let ping expire.

Does uber pool tell you where the pax is going before you start ride? Just wondering how you know if the pax is going close enough to your home to pick up.
No, but since I'm using destination filter it's pretty close. I actually don't mind driving at base rate with destination filters going to work and back home. I've driven much less dead miles and earned more.

Like many of the posts -- I accept but very selectively and will depend on location, time and boost or no-boost. Though I've been given the 2 min time out a lot, recently. If I am in gridlock, there is NO WAY I am going even 1 block out of my way.

Hi New, You are exactly right. It's that 2nd pickup in a congested area at a bad time (rush hour, after a baseball game) that makes you want to bang your head against a wall. Pool in those times/places is counterproductive because you aren't getting to destinations and completing trips. You are sitting in endless cycles of lights to get some person who is .25 miles away.

7:45 am Have not received my first PING pong yet
Where were you at 0745? I turned on my Uberfone westbound on Military at 30th at 0830. The first ping was an Uber Stool at the Rottenhouse. I let it expire as it was behind me and it was Uber Stool. Immediately, I received an UberX ping near Broad Branch and Western, so I went and got that one. I am Silver, this week, so it was 1,6 to Washington Circle.

Though I've been given the 2 min time out a lot, recently.
I got sent to stand in the Virtual Corner for two minutes several times, yesterday. I just turned on Lyft. I did get one Lyft ping, but it was a Lyft Line, so I let it go. Then the two minutes was up, so I just went back to Uber. The rest of the incidents, my corner time expired, so I logged back onto the Uber. I got sent to stand in the cybercorner once, to-day, after I let go three Uber Stools when I was on Wilson Boulevard. I was in Clarendon when I let go the third one, and I had to talk to the Proprietor, so I went to Red Top, talked to the Proprietor, came back to my car by which time the Virtual Corner Time had expired.

Of course, I have been getting the usual nastygrams from Uber and Lyft about not accepting pings. I received an e-Mail to-day that informs me that Uber has "upgraded" my Virtual Corner Time for each "infraction" from two minutes to ten. I guess that if you "refuse to learn", they give you more time standing in the Cybercorner.

If Uber and Lyft do not like it when drivers decline pings, there is an easy way out: allow drivers to opt in and out of Uber Pool/Lyft Line.
