Like I said. I got a ping from MCO when I was at Epcot.. FOR REAL.... 17 miles away..
The passenger said they (5 riders and 5 bags) had been waiting over 30 mins..
I told them where I was and they proposed a $35.00 tip
I drove to MCO and guess what
There were 4 drivers at MCO. 3 X and 1 XL.
There was no surge. so drivers left MCO and followed the surge. be it small $$.
Be prepared to be screwed by Sh_uber.
These past 3 days showed me what is coming....and it isn't pretty...
I only drive Thurs - Sun now.. Soon it will be weekends only.
Then you will see me in yellow....

Well from here until .. June-ish I'm not going to be working disney (or the airport), I'm probobly going to end up working the hood late night again until the summer rush starts up. Keep that in mind bro I'm the lunatic whose always working the damned hood, By the end of the week there will be too many cabs at disney to be worth queuing, maybe if you could get a van but honestly that shit doesn't happen reliably.
They are activly pushing drivers to work 24 hour rentals, but the secret to 12 hour overnights is to just show up and ask for a car between 20:30 and 22:00. For the 20:30-22:00 12 hour shifts the taxis vary in price from $66 to $83
$66- mears ride all types
$70- City/checker vans
$76- City Sedan
$83- yellow Sedan.
Mears ride- Dispatch calls only (no staging at hotels, theme parks, or anywhere else) Orange/seminole county.
City- Disney (except for all star resort/hotels) City of Orlando, Universal, Orange/seminole county dispatched fares
Checker - Disney (all) Unicorporated Orange county (not the city limits) Osceola county (all), Misc orange county cab stands outside of city limits.
Yellow- Orange/Seminole county disaptch, MCO, Universal studios, MISC cab stands not on disney property.
Winter park- Sanford Airport, Pine hills, winter park, Seminole county, Unicorporated orange county north of colonial drive and east of Semoran BLVD.
Personally for the overnight I prefer city for the flexibility but I
can work any of the fleets overnight but probobly checker. Checker has some oddball things, I mean I could make checker work on 24 hour no problem (especially if it's a van) but not on the 21:00 overnight shift.
But checker is especially bad when disney isn't busy or slow.
But wether you do night or day shift be prepared to taxi.. and mears does not let you weasel out of fares either. You need a very good reason or they get upset. The only one I even attempted to weasel out of in the last week was a fare that needed a carseat I didn't have. They had no problem releasing me off the fare and redispatching it for that reason.
I'd run dispatch calls any weekend day of the year in a City/Yellow or Mears Ride vehicle.
Overnight is generally a wednesday to sunday game but I'm probobly going to try some mondays/tuesdays soonish. There's generally a lack of drivers late night so there's calls.
