Anyone having problems with the new app updates?

Since last update I haven't received a ping. I have been in busy areas where I always receive a ping but now I don't get anything? Also I have the update only about few hours on my phone then it looks like has been rolled back and now it looks the same like the old uber version but still don't get any pings. Anyone experiencing the same issue?

Thanks
Cris

I've had some problems, mostly with getting trips to start. When that Start Trip bar is not green there is no way you can start the trip. You have to do the trip off line with your navigator app and make a note of the start and finish addresses or cross streets. Have the rider cancel the ride ONLY when you get to the destination, then email Uber with the start/finish information so you get credit for the ride. Another thing you can try is to uninstall your Uber app and then reinstall it from the app store, you'll get the latest version. Hope it helps.

I'm virtually getting no requests also. I've had the app on for seven hours without one request.

Hello all, new driver here, have about 100 rides under my belt. When the Start Trip bar is not green, restarting my smart phone has gotten it back. I just apologize to the pax for the delay.

I've had to do the same thing, restart my phone. Royal pain in the ass. Doesn't seem to be affecting number of calls I'm getting, it's been slow out there, welcome to Uber!
What I am find interesting with all the problems with the last update is that we are not all facing the same issues.

My problem has been inaccurate directions. The little man is rarely where the actual address is. Even worse, the directions go to the little man icon not to the address.

I have also lost a few pings as I've gotten network errors when accepting.

But unlike Christanos, I'm getting pings and I have not had the slider issue.

I'm wondering if the different issues are based on phone types. I'm on an iPhone 5 iOS 8.4.1.

I've also tried using the three different options for navigation, getting the same results with each.
Is it just me, or did they toss out this update with nary a word to the drivers? While most of it seems rather intuitive, the change from old to new kinda threw me for a loop, honestly. I know I started at least a couple trips as soon as I arrived because I didn't know it auto-notified the pax when I got close to the pin.

That is really weird because mine has changed but still doesn't autonotify. The interface changes when I get close to the pin but I still have to press to confirm I'm there , then slide to start if it doesn't lock up.
Glad to see I am not the only one having app problems. I have had numerous issues. Pax's are complaining that the app is not showing our movements. Had two separate people ask me if I was in route or what my ETA was these last two weeks. I only drive on the weekends. Like some, I had not driven for a few days when I see a new app. SURPRISE!!!! New app sincs even worse now with Google maps and takes a long time to load. Started en route last week and had probably gone a mile before I could get the trip started and the map could be used to navigate. Have also had times when I could not end the trip so the pax did it. Had a couple of fares where the app completely dropped me and closed causing me to loose the fare. When I went back on line the fare was gone. I understand the technical side and problems with phones but I would consider this a breach of contract if the app is sent out poorly functioning and back charge Uber for missed fares. Before the app change, I had numerous episodes where the app would put me at one location and the customer come from another. Pax's would also say Uber drivers never went to the right location. I was informed that the locating mechanism was a grid and not coordinate based. Before I found this forum, I believed a strong correlation existed between the malfunctioning, poorly designed app, misaligned coordinates, and poor star ratings. This forum has confirmed it. I found pax's were using the app to locate them and not putting in the correct address. They think the driver is a moron and rates them low not knowing the tools we have to work with are poorly designed and malfunctioning. After confronting Uber, I get this email that I can come to some location if I am having phone issues. Like what is that going to resolve? Please also DO NOT INSULT MY INTELLIGENCE!!! Besides I work another job and don't have the time to go 25-30 miles away during those hours. Of course this is never offered during drive time or evenings. I use my Google maps everyday and never have a problem with them until I try to sinc the Uber app to it. Tempted to get a lawyer, if I keep getting dropped by this app because they are not providing the proper tools for us AND CAUSING ME TO LOSE MONEY.
