Lapping the Beltway no. Going long way around it all the time. Sleeping international passengers are money.

I once picked up a rider in Shirlington and she was going to the Rockville metro on a 3.5x. Best. Trip. Ever. She fell asleep immediately, and I took the craziest route ever to get her to the metro. I gently woke her up and pushed her out the door. Made a hundred bucks off the ride.

Well said. Bonus points for the use of the N2TMH. I have done that exact route from BWI before but was shitting bricks the entire trip over whether it would trigger a recalculation.

The safest profitable BWI to DC route is 195/95/495 S/295 S (bear left at the 50 split)/695/12th Street. I avoid B.W. Parkway between BWI and 495. Shooting over to 95 does 2 things:

1. Saves wear and tear on your car.

2. Lets you cover more miles at a higher speed. 295 is so beat up people in Afghanistan laugh at the condition of it. You can't do decent speed. 95 is 65 speed limit.

2 years ago when I started hanging out from time to time at the BWI lot so many people took 97/50 to DC we'd joke and call it a "Code 9750 infraction". LOL. It was popular.

I thought of this the other day. If you are taking someone from MoCo to cherry blossoms, tell them about the Kenwood neighborhood in Bethesda where people flock for the cherry blossoms as an alternative to DC, then drive them all around the neighborhood around all the blocks a few times. The streets all have temp no parking signs right now and there are pedestrians all over the place requiring meticulously slow driving with lots of turns and back-tracking.

That counts. I can say from conversations with other drivers that 3/4 laps in Bawmer going the long way to get to, say, Pikesville or Towson, or White Marsh is not uncommon. Hell I've done 3/4 laps from BWI to Towson and further West via the Eastern PG side myself. And the pax have been wide awake. It's amazing how many deer run up Rock Creek Park and recklessly run across the freeway near silver spring and Bethesda....or so I've heard. I don't long haul much been when I do I make it some biblical shit.
