Hi all, I'm only 2+ months in and have had to decline a couple of Ride Requests when I arrived because the Riders were requesting that I leave my vehicle and assist them in their apartments to either move furniture or return a 55" TV to Target. Both suggested that I use the "Stow-N-Go" feature of the van and make room for the materials. Personally, I feel that leaving my vehicle is outside my comfort zone, assisting in moving anything is a possible liability in regard to both my health (back) and the possible breakage of the items involved, and altering the configuration of my van isn't something I look forward to doing in any case. I informed them of the liability angle for myself as well as possibly Uber, and I went so far as to Cancel the Ride, but not Charge the Rider. They both seemed to take it OK after saying other Drivers had done it for them, but I wondered if there would be any type of response from Uber. So far nothing, and no input under the "Issues" section of the App.

I just wondered if anyone else had experienced the same type of "UberHaul" (U-Haul!) situation, and what had become of it.

Thanks for any input!

Ha ha ha, you could probably do that in Cimmeria! I think over here in Aquilonia we tend to use kid gloves when educating our less aware Riders, at least the first few times! By Crom, I'll be sure to keep a hardy laugh at the ready should I encounter a similar happenstance.

Well, for $100.00 I would have gone offline, removed my Trade Dress, and just helped them like a friend would've. But while on the job, I stick to the rules (Uber Rules and my own rules), and transport people (only) proficiently and professionally.

hhaahhhahaah you butt hurt non UberPool accepting drivers will hate ubers next venture

UberMove

teehehe :DI figure the next typical evolution will be "Uber Move", just like you said. But more insurance and moving apparatus will need to be standard issue. Although, I do have a few skateboards sitting around and they work great for moving furniture!
