I just got one for $10 extra. It happened by the time I went from their door to my car, so it had to be in app.In the last 3 months about 500 deliveries I remember only 2 after the delivery add on to original tips.
I don’t take many no tip offers. About the only no tip offers I’ve done were at least $4 and under 2 miles or $5 under 3 and not at dinner time. I specifically remember a 4.50 offer for 2 miles that did add on $2. It only happened once so I remember
that’s sufficient evidence for me to state that people that don’t tip in app before won’t add on after.
That is defferent than when the customer actually adds on to his/her initial tips.I get quite a few tips that are larger than when the order came in, after I end the delivery.
This is mostly due to DD hiding the full tip during the ping.I get quite a few tips that are larger than when the order came in, after I end the delivery.
I actually rarely ever get such notifications, none over the past 6 months or so.That is defferent than when the customer actually adds on to his/her initial tips.
When that happens, you get a notification from DD that the customer added to the initial tip.
That is because up until a few days ago, the customer had to call support and go through the process of talking to them in order to get an additional tip in.I actually rarely ever get such notifications, none over the past 6 months or so.
I haven't received any additional tips yet but if this becomes anything remotely close to a regular occurrence Doordash will CUT our pay even more. That is because up until a few days ago, the customer had to call support and go through the process of talking to them in order to get an additional tip in.
Recently, this capability became in app. I have gotten 2 in app tip uppings since it started.
The only thing that may stop this from ocurring is that if they cut pay, and the offer becomes unattractive on the front end, then who will accept them? Not me!I haven't received any additional tips yet but if this becomes anything remotely close to a regular occurrence Doordash will CUT our pay even more.
Doordash's motivation for doing this is to trick drivers into accepting garbage offers at lower pay rates with the expectation of getting additional tips on the back end.
You won't fall for it because you're a savvy driver, but you're not the typical driver. The only thing that may stop this from ocurring is that if they cut pay, and the offer becomes unattractive on the front end, then who will accept them? Not me!
I don't even accept LOP orders anymore if they aren't feasible up front.
I did accept a couple in anticipation of a higher tip, and got the shaft. Never again.
