If you enjoy stuffing around for 40 minutes for $12 then uber eats is for you.

The base rate is higher than X and so is the KM rate, however no time rate so you need to deliver the food as quick as possible.

Also need to find parking and deliver to their apartment complex.

or hotel

Min trips are the best though. drive 2KM for $10. Also claim as many late fees as possible. Easy $10 if you wait more than 10 min for the food.

This is what bothers me about this. It can be hard enough finding riders during busy times. Finding parking around busy restaurants and cafes will be a nightmare. The Uber guy asking me to sign up said some places will run the food out to the driver. Has anyone experienced this?

Might be a good thing for rider only drivers because the eats drivers will be busy on eats trips.

I sold my business two weeks ago; and now have much more spare time. I thought I'd try this uber eats. Signed up last week.

I tried this out yesterday.....

Did 5 deliveries; but I'm not going to do anymore.

Uber will sign you up; and the app is then set up so whenever you are doing uberX -YOU MUST be taking uber eats jobs.
Or you can set option on app,to do uber eats jobs only.
There is no option to only do uber X.

Here is the best part; I picked up from burger, Chinese and Indian. I couldn't get that mixed kitchen smell out of the car. Will uber provide free deodouriser for your car???

Another attractive part; app says staff will bring delivery to your car.
The Indian joint didn't after 6 minutes of waiting- I went inside and order was ready to go..... Staff too busy; or have a care factor as high as uber does for ......?

And went to Surry hills eatery; said to go to laneway. Laneway was blocked no street parking. Had to park 4 blocks away, then walk to restaurant, and waited 7-8 minutes for order to be cooked.
When I emailed uber.....about long wait...
Well; the flowery, generic, template replies are ready; just told me I had to wait ten minutes minimum before I could collect cancellation fee..It took me almost ten minutes to find parking; plus 3 minute walk to shop, then 8 minute wait, for food, then 3 minute walk back to car plus a ten minute ride- to a ninth floor apartment, where some inner city dude wouldn't answer his phone or come downstairs to collect food.

All up, around 35-40mins for a $12 delivery???

Of the 5 deliveries, only one had easy parking. Most places are in high traffic/ density areas. Finding parking is hell. Think; Glebe, bondi, CBD, Darlinghurst, etc.

Uber knows .....and people will still do it.
As for me....I'm returning the b'delivery bag; and asking the head office to change my app setting to uberX only..

There's better ways.

I would have taken a different approach to it. PM me for more details if you want to work it... That wasn't the way to work it at all!

I can't see UberEats working in Sydney for those who also do UberX. Perfect job though for those who have a scooter, easy to park and cheap to run.

Last Sunday I was amazed at the sheer number of bicycle delivery guys working for Deliveroo. Most of them breaking every road rule known to mankind.

joffie once had a free lunch before, you can ask him :D

Burgers!

I nearly scored a free dinner once, but the requester appeared at the last second as I was about to end trip and disappear (was uncontactable by me or by Uber.) Damn!

ThatUBERman, great info.
BTW - guess who gets to eat the failed deliveries?:p. And I find Indian too hot .:(

Wow!! I can't believe it's such a nightmare just by reading some of you guys experienced. That's it, i wont take uberEats. I dont want my car to go smelly and it takes a while to clear the ordours of food smell.

Thank you all for sharing the experienced, it gives me the insight of not worth doing it.

yeah after hearing you guys I dont find any advantages of being a Ubereats. Theres just too much hassle and its time consuming. I think ubereats drivers should get more benefits over uberX drivers. What if you spill laksa all over your seats for eg...I'm sure uber will pay for cleaning (if I'm correct) but thats not going to bring back where it used to be.

Uber eats can work for BIG BOSS MAN- uber.

But not the way they impose it upon you on the app. Once your registered for eats; they set the app so when you are online for UberX you must accept incoming uberEATS jobs.

There's no choice to do uberX only.

They will find people on scooters; big Bomb cars (cars can be upto 20 years old- with no uber inspection required).

It's too much to impose uberX drivers to do it.
The persistent smells; then the demand of maintaining 5* with the uberX pax.
Parking, constantly getting in and out of car, delivering fresh, unspoilt, unspilt eats.

Some drivers may find it ok?
Some will adapt to it- and get different vehicle for it.
Others will pass...

I have done 6 jobs for uber eats. So far not bad. I never go into building and eing the client to pick up their food. If a pick up says they being it to you. I ring the shop and tell them im waiting. I dont go in. Its very simple. Not bad for a quick $20- $40 dollars per day. This wont be to everyonea liking but if it suits do it.
