Anybody else experience this that before they receive trip request to jfk or LGA they receive an update on the app? As if in other to get those trips it has to be on a different versioN

Despite the daily text from uber about being online during peak hours yesterday I began my day as usual at 4am in Hudson county driving through every city and not one single ping until 530
Sporadically through out the day pings 20 to 30 minutes apart I emailed uber and received the same generic response then all of sudden today I get an update and so far two trips back to back to LGA
Coincidence?

Guess I'm the only one
We do not know that but most of the drivers here cancel trips to NYC Airports.
You can ck why on this site - go to the top right corner "SEARCH" JFK airport or other related word to get more info.

I, in particular refuse to go to NYC Airport unless they are at 2x surge. Uber told me to tell customer: "Please re order your trip, I don't go to NYC Airports".
Drivers have the option not to go.

Im new, how can you tell if the trip is for the airports, it tells me after i start trip.
Also had one yesterday. Made $50 after tolls for two hour round trip. Is it better to stay local and do short trips?

thanks Jimmy

Hello Jimmy,
I don't think that is correct and it would depend if you pick a pax with surge or not, make your math.

Tolls + gas + time + wear and tear of vehicle = Not worth it.

Your total profit might be $3 to $8 on 1.5 to 2.5 hours trip.
*Unless Uber has changed the formula which I doubt.

Unfortunately we are losing money on almost all the trips due to Uber's formula.

Call pax and tell them $20 upfront cash tip to drive to airports that's the only way you go into the city ....

Then how do you avoid them reporting you to uber making such a crazy demand which they'll cancel the ride and request anyway smh
It's own business as an independent contractor to set your rules and regulations just like uber does
If they are in need of a ride they'll pay up or try to risk not getting there on time
Remember tips are not included like most riders think they are
Tips are not mandatory like uber explains it
But tips are customary and apreciated for drivers just like cabbies
Most riders do not know this because uber makes them believe that's already part of the total fare
They lie, lie, lie it's all about uber
We make our final decision to drive or not to drive
Is it worth the trip the time the miles the traffic for a mere $20-30 in net fares after tolls and gas not counting ware and tare on your car plus your irs tax at the end of the year
Maybe for you not for me now if it's at a good surge that's a different story

Do you still drive for uber?
