I work at home in the central San Diego area. I keep the Lyft app on through the morning while I work. It never surges here, and there really aren't that many rides. I'm OK with that, but I'm amazed at the number of ants hanging out in the parking lots waiting for that one $3 ride. At mid morning, there are 6 in one square block. I go into rider mode just to see how long they stay and it can be an hour before they get a ride. How do these people live? At some point, McDonalds pays more.
