A few days ago, I went to renew my auto insurance and sign waivers for unlimited PIP as my life as a gig worker really not justified or afford the extra premium. I even did not ask how much it'll cost if I want the unlimited PIP.
Then, I verified I was wrongfully convicted of [failed to yield] to ghost behind my car when
I was doing 33 mph at post speed limit of 35 mph. My agent's screen shows the conviction probably from state's database of my driving conviction records.
My moods turned dark, very dark now as a voluntary charity worker for corporate Americas. I must be declare a complete a loser or failure to live a gig life in America with piling traffic convictions.
Last Friday night around 11 PM, I was heading east and got a ping for a store I just past a few seconds ago, so I immediately moved to the most inside lane looking for a way to make my way back to the store.
Found a left turn lane as the sign says Left lane must turn left, I gladly slowed down and made a Michigan left turn or U-turn, so smoothly, I was feeling great my beater OR1G, acquired from the Oak Ridge research lab is till going strong at 240k miles on the Odometer after being Ubered and Lyfted on it before I was Permanently Deactivated.
There was no traffic on the west bound lanes and when I was trying to speed up to the posted speed limit of 45 mph, I notice the ugly blue and red lights flashing in the dark in rear view mirror. What's was going on????
I managed moved to the right lane and stopped right there, I don't care my life and the car flashing the lights any more. According to the law, I must stop at place I found safe and satisfy the authority's demand to stop rather than anger the people that try to stop you for whatever reason.
I waited in my car hopelessly and feeling so sad. Why am I doing this to get this kind of treatment in the place I call my home town or my home city?
Wasn't it a good way to do charity work for the corporate Americas and people in the community that can and/or can't afford tip(s) to the essential service?
A female came to my right side windows and knock on it, want me open window for her, I can't reach over to the right side to crank down the window as this is the very basic version of Corolla when Fed bought it for research. The woman was not pleased. I waived at her and signal her to come to the driver side to talk. I can't remember what she said or did and just remembered she just want her demands fulfilled, she want driver license, registration and proof of insurance.( I sense it was bad when cop stops you, failed to greet you as citizen under their protection and simply says "Your driver license, registration and proof of insurance" when one got stopped.)
I knew it's bad from my past experience interacted with the strangers dressed in black that flash the red and blue lights. I 'm senior citizen now that has started doing ride-sharing as we call it today from 50+ years ago, shuffling paxs including American GI's on the R&R trips or holidays during the Vietnam war.
I know it's bad. she doesn't want to answer my questions and simply said her charge to me was [disobey stop sign] without any attempt to stop. I was totally puzzled as I did not see any stop signs or even a traffic light before I made and completed the turn.
What's my defense? I may not have to quit ubering, lyfting or dashing as my driving privilege will be suspended after this wave of onslaught of wrongful or false accusations of traffic violations by the good or bad girls and boys in my Home Town.
I need genuine advice on how to deal this last false or wrongful accusation.
Not seeing a damaged sign in dark is a good ground for defense? Did the woman really see a stop sign or she imagined there was a stop sign in the path I just travelled?
Actually, after the woman stopped my car, there were two other males shown up, one asked "what's your name?" The other said "stay in your car" when I tried to find the stop sign they say I disobeyed?
