It was almost like a matter of pride. But it has more to do with luck. Or just the fact that I rarely drive past 2 AM on weekends.

But it all had to come to an end.

On Saturday morning, around 1 am, I picked up a guy , using his gf’s account. He seemed fine at first. Am not an expert at identifying drunk people. So I couldn’t tell what he was up to when he opened the window and let it all out. Thankfully most was outside. But it was a total mess. He tried to clean some of it but didn’t really help.

I dropped him off, took enough pictures for reporting it and went to a nearby gas station for a full wash.

Uber reimbursed me $80.

I gave him 3 stars. Only because I felt bad for his gf. Not really his fault so she shouldn’t be fully penalized.

Glad I finally got this out of the way. It is like a rite of passage for Uber drivers: sooner or later you have to go through it. Just glad mine was virtually all outside.

Took me 3500 rides... DONT feel sorry for anyone who pukes in YOUR car dude. Unless he told you he was gonna yack it is total disrespect.
Anyone at that time has to have a 90% chance of being drunk. Before you drive off when they get in look at them and ask if they are ok. Then remind them to tell you the SECOND they don’t feel well. If on a street pull over and tell them to open the door. That will get them thinking of puke and they will hurl. If on a highway give them bags to hold on to. Have one rolled down ready to go. This came in handy for me this Saturday night actually. The biggest thing of all is to remember to lock your windows! You don’t want that expense of having someone have to literally take apart your whole door.
Now that you had your first puker you will be more aware trust me lol
Good luck!

Well, unless you work bar closing hours, not likely to get drunkards at all.

$ 80 isnt enough. Did you yake pictures. That gets you the max $ 150. Rider gets a 1 Star and No Match with rider again, ever.

We'll miss you buddy
I don't think he is leaving us, just that his puke-free streak came to an end.

I'm at about 2500 rides (how do you see the Lyft total?) and have been lucky. I had a puker only once though other times have been close. The puker was an elderly man with his wife, way past their bedtimes on a Saturday night. He brought his own bag and was silent and discrete. No mess, no smell, no fuss. Maybe he was sick. He was way too old to fit a partier's profile. I felt bad for the old guy. He was very polite.

I gave him 3 stars. Only because I felt bad for his gf.
That's a tough one, Ashoor , I have gone part way on the rating too though not all the way. If she loaned out her account there should be consequences if her friend is a poor customer. We sometimes remind ourselves, here, that an occasional poor driver rating is not the end of the world. Well, the same goes for a rider's rating. Knocking her down a bit is not wrong if she regularly loans out her account like that. If it is one-time then a low rating isn't significant. After all, a customer's rating is an average and for the driver's benefit, not hers.

Didn't get my first upchuck until 4000 rides in. Girl.copped to puking in her dinner bag. A little spilled out. Wasn't all that difficult to clean up since all the supplies are in the trunk(thank you Uber eats insulated bag). Also luckily for me it was clear bile and not food/booze. Which on the down side was impossible to show in pictures. Organic deodorizer saved the day.

I had a puker on my 350th rideshare ride... At 3pm. She was very sick and not drunk. She barfed 3 times in the car and then twice outside before I got her to the hospital.

I have those blue ringed barf bags I bought for St Patty's day. She didn't miss.
