Wondering if anyone had found a solution for this:

I’m active duty military and drive Uber part time for extra $. Since I have an out of area license, the default policy is that I cannot pickup in DC.

DC government recognized this issue and created an exception to the rule for military. You just have to fill out some forms and they give you a permit that exempts you.

I sent in my permit to Lyft and they processed it in a day. Super easy, no issues.

I’ve been waiting for Uber to figure out what to do for 2 weeks now! They keep telling me it’s elevated to a special team... for weeks! It’s becoming a giant pain since I primarily drive Uber and if I don’t want to break consecutive trips or quests I have to drive out of DC before I get any more rides.

Has anyone dealt with this? Why can’t Uber figure out what to do when it was super easy for Lyft?

1. Thanks for your service. You protect us so we can continue being the Deplorable reprobates we are. Come to a Meetup and first beer is on me.

2. Try the Tyson's Greenlight Hub. It's on Route 7 in a Sprint store next to the Pier 1 and there's a Marshall's in the shopping center as well. They're usually pretty quick.

Thank you - I'm proud to serve.

I'll give that a shot- it's unreal how hard it is to get Uber to give me an answer. 45 minutes on the phone Friday yielded nothing other than being told again that it's elevated to a special team.

I'll take you up on the Meetup- sounds awesome!

Not being an ass here but when you email or call Rohit 3 different times for the same question you will get 3 different answers, depending on which template he's reading from.

The Greenlight is usually pretty good and they know how incompetent Rohit is. Plus they're local so they understand what you're trying to do.

Wear the uniform when you go there.

Welcome to YouPeaDotNet. Thank you for your service.

You will find e-Mail "support" absolutely useless and telephone "support" less than useless. The e-Mail "support" points and clicks on cue cards, the telephone "support" reads from cue cards. Uber's driver "support" is outsourced. The rank and file employees of these firms have a command of the English Language equivalent to that of a third grader. The Supervisor is the one who has a command of the English Language that is on the level of a freshman in high school.

Go to the Green Light Centre. Take copies of those papers that you filed with you.
