Hi Fellows, I have just had an accident possibly at fault, still cant say. I have full ridshare Insurance on Privately owned (registered) vehicle. What possible issues I can get into, this is my first ever accident, so I'm totally unaware what to expect next. Any insight from any of you is greatly appreciated.
Pax was in vehicle, thankfully she remained safe, both cars are pretty badly damaged.
What r the consequences of at fault accidents please from rideshare and general perspective. Thanks

Don't report it to uber, or you'll be deactivated from what I've seen others say here multiple times.

Treat it like a normal claim.
Call your insurance, get the car repaired as quick as you can to minimise earning loss, don't report to uber.

If pax reports to uber, you'll be deactivated, but I'm sure you'll be let back on the road once you get it repaired if that does happen.

If the police attend and they find out it was a ride share trip, there is a good chance it will get reported to the P2P commission, as a reportable offence. So there is a good chance FUber will find out anyway, should the P2P commission report back to rideshare companies.

So I guess it depends on how serious the accident was. This is especially the case if you might have charges pending against you as a result of your driving........or down the track if the case goes to court.

Also, if the other driver knows that you were driving for FUber and wants a witness....... they (or their lawyer or insurance company) could well reach out to FUber for your passengers details. That would send out a red flag to FUber when they see that your car has not taken a trip as well.

So even if you do not report the accident to FUber, they could well find out anyway. Not trying to be alarmist. Just pointing out how FUber might find out anyway.

Pax will most likely report it, its one of the options which appears on the rider app after the ride is finished. Some years ago a passenger even reported me for a nose to tail caused by the driver behind me when I slowed down for a cyclist. I had to immediately provide pics of the damage to avoid suspension.

That is the risk you take in not reporting, if the passenger reports you and you don't, you will get deactivated. Reporting an accident is a requirement in the p2p legislation (my nose to tail was in the good years before p2p legislation). Its one thing not to report a very minor nose to tail with only a few scratches, quite another to not report an accident where both cars were heavily damaged.

Uber is aware mate, I repoete

Uber was made aware, I called and reported straight away. (Temporarily suspended for now).
I was approaching T Intersection, a road from left made it T intersection, and there are houses on right side of the road on which I was going straight, so there's No road from Right which connects with road I was on. A vehicle in opposite direction wanted to take its Right turn (my left). That Vehicle in opposite direction was stationary at Intersection, Since I was going straight and he was turning, I kept on moving ahead and as I entered the Intersection he took Right turn and BANG,,, I had less than split second to respond. It hit my car's Front right side.

What!!!?? Why are you suspended? Because there was an accident, don't really get this. Accidents happen to anyone, that's not the reason to be suspended from Uber! Sounds like good ombudsman story.

From what you describe he should have given way to you, unless your entry to the intersection had a 'give way' sign. What made you say that you were at fault?

temporary suspension as your vehicle is no longer roadworthy, standard practise by uber once you report an accident

Happened 2 me last year
Got rear ended
Told Uber
Got deactivated immediately
They said fix car show us the photos & receipt that car has been repaired
Was out of action for a few days fixed car showed receipts & immediately got reactivated
Just tell them to cover yourself & just use 1 of those accident repair vehicles most cover not at fault but some do at fault as well

Over Xmas I saw a Honda Jazz with ACT rego plates at the airport, displaying the FUber sticker. The rear passenger door below the window was totally smashed in, making the door inoperable. The driver then headed into the green priority pickup. Totally not safe!

I wonder how long he lasted on Sydney roads before a passenger reported him?

That's suspended not deactivated fool😂😂😂

And it's done to prevent ants driving with damaged cars...

Because his car is not roadworthy... Upload the docs for a rental and he'll be on the road in no time
