Ok guys can we talk about acceptance percentage? Currently doing Uber eats (waiting on the background check for UberX) and I had earned diamond status. Then I lost it when my acceptance percentage dropped below 85%
I often turn down the fares Less than $5 because it’s just not worth the time or gas. I tried to spend a day not declining any fares at all but averaged much less pay.
My question is, how important is it to stay above 85%?

I dont do eats but I think if you can't make the requirements it doesn't tell you how long the trip is and which direction as a driver

You can decline 1 in every 7 requests to maintain a 85%

I did Uber X and my AR was 61% when I stopped driving. The last thing I care about is my AR.

The key to making money is limiting the distance you drive to pickup the ride or food.

Not at all! Last I looked my UE AR was 4%.

Like @Boca Ratman said, all mind games. These statuses are developed by Industrial Psychologists working with the gig apps to mind F (uhm...screw) people into being manipulated for no real benefit (unless you drive for points, badges, and status)

The only benefit to that status is if you are one of those very rare individuals who actually takes on-line classes with tuition money paid for by Uber for achieving that status. @Trafficat is the only UP member I know who actually uses that.

Declining 6/7 offers is probably closer to a better idea.
