So on the highway sometimes we might be excited and cross that 80 mph mark on the speedometer and Uber hits us with that warning on the app. What happens? Can we just continue? Are they notifying a State Trooper to go hunt down a vehicle with an airplane sticker in rear window.

Imagine if we were doing 80 mph on a side street, deactivation for roller coaster ride? :(

Okay I kind of figured because they don't even message us if we cross over 10 hours a day

I've had that many many many of times. Nothing to lose sleep over. When you get an ORD to aurora at 10pm and you get on 88, you better be going faster then 80 or you'll get you @&$ rear ended!!

Try that excuse in court. I never run over 80 and I've never come close to getting rear ended. Now you might try to claim that you had a testosterone attack or that the crack made you do it. Twenty three years over the road and I bet I broke 80 maybe 5 times and I did get a ticket for it once in Ohio. Of course, we all know about Ohio....

You are not arguing anything in court one word, guilty and pay your fine

I just kind of felt Uber would warn us about speeding like they do with low ratings

Only time I ever got the warning I looked in the mirror and there was a state trooper behind me. I actually had to speed up a little more to get over and let him pass.
I usually stay in the left center lane when 4 lanes. Typically that means around 75 mph, except on 88 in light traffic, then all bets are off.
State trooper go after the most dangerous drivers. Allow a large following distance, avoid constant lane changes, move over to be passed and you're fine. Differences in speed are far more dangerous than just high speeds.

Let the law always pass by and give them a respectful nod :D
Because EVERYBODY should be looking at their app. When doing 80 m.p.h. instead of the road !
If I'm on the highway I don't need navigation to know where I'm going to but when that alert beeping thing starts even the pax ask what was that "Sorry, I crossed over 80 mph"

I got that too last Friday. Usually I never go over 80. Though the traffic flow in the far left lane on I294 was above 80. Oh and my rider somehow realized that she needs to fly Delta from MDW, not ORD and was late. Pretty sure she made her flight, and I got a few thank you's lol

Lately that's all I'm getting lol last time I got matched at ORD, terminal 5, get there in 3 minutes, nobody waiting for me, then I get a text " sorry, terminal 3, picking up my parents". Ok, I loop around to terminal 3, still no pax, another message, " they're in front of American". Then I call and tell him to send his parents between 2 and 3 where rideshare loading zone is. Few more minutes another text "do they must to be at upper level?". @#$$#@ At this point I'm like I should just cancel, but thought people need a little guidance and I'll wait. They finally made it, 20-25 minutes from the time I got the ping...Fast forward to drop off got "thank you for your patience". Oh well, then I had a lengthy battle with Uber support to compensate me for my troubles since trip didn't start on time. It took 5 emails to get $3.90 back...

You know, that's the crappy thing about being in a 'no tipping' customer service business: It really doesn't pay to go out of your way to provide exceptional service, and actually it detracts from your income since time is money! (not to speak of wear & tear on the car and driver resulting in additional expense).

So it's really in our best interest to be efficient and perfunctory, which usually means taking the 'no show' fee and moving on to the next pax.

Sadly. Because I'd like to go out of my way to provide exceptional service, but there is no incentive and in fact plenty of disincentive.

Several states have speed limits of 80mph, and if I recall TX is about to do 85mph. I wonder if they actually use the posted road speed limit or just have a blanket warning for anyone who does 80mph.

Here in Chicago its 55mph around the city and goes up to 65mph a lot further away once you leave the vicinity and hit the country grassland
