Will be moving close to Santa Clara University/SJC airport area in about a month. Any thoughts or advice, especially number of hours would need to work, on pulling in about $600 net per week around there would be appreciated. Thanks.

Make sure you get a tax certificate if you are doing airport runs at SJC. They have been know to do stings.

$600+/ wk is definitely achievable. No more than 28-30 hours; less if you drive at nite.
I would recommend keeping both apps on, unless you are a chasing a bonus on one.
You will get a lot of pool rides during the am commute.
And do get a tax certificate from the city of SJ.

You can get at least $200/week (depending on route) just for driving 1 pool trip in the morning and evening from Monday to Thursday for this new company called Smerle. It's a commuter service so ride matches are only during peak commute hours. They guarantee pay whether you get matched or not as long as you are available. Each trip is no more than 45 mins and I consistently average >$35/hr. But, it requires a vehicle with 7 seats so only Uber XL and Lyft plus drivers qualify.

They seem to be small but the guaranteed pay for just a few hrs/week is attractive. It takes care of my vehicle fixed costs and more. Check them out if interested. Good luck!

Really? How much is it? Is it worth it or better to just avoid airport?
Your tax fee can be waived if you can convince the clerk that you'll be making less than $25000 a year doing Uber . They'll give you a receipt for $0 paid and mail you your actual tax certificate in a few weeks.

NET depends upon what car you drive. Think DEPRECIATION and gas.
Yes drive in San Jose and make less money.Yes you earn nearly 20% less. Drive in East Bay and make nearly 30% less.
Here's what you can make on the weekend in 11 trips if you stay away from San Jose, South Bay, and most of all the East Bsy.
There's money earned with Lyft also and if you're determined you'll find there are really no slow days. Haven't had one in 4 years but have had days that started slow.
