Today ends the first week that I'm eligible for the $1,500/week guarantee for making 65 trips in NYC with 25 of them originating below 110th Street during peak hours (had that nailed down by Wednesday).

So, this week, I have completed 69 trips with 38 of them being below 110th during peak hours. My earnings are only $765 (I took all the pool rides possible!). So, does this mean that I should see $765 + $735 = $1,500 in my next direct deposit ? OR Do I have to wait until the end of the 4 weeks and Uber will pay the difference between all I earn in those 4 weeks and $6,000 ?

With Uber, you never know!

Thanks,

Another one bites the Uber dust reeled in with $1,500 gurantee. Did you really believe you were going to make $1,500 every week or $78,000yr if you used excel driving for Uber?? Don't prospects Google about NYC driver experience before investing time+$$?

I am glad you post your real earnings , how many hours did you actually stay with the car and how many hours did Uber claim you drive? if $765 less all the expense, tolls, car payment Insurance, car wash , gas, what else is left?

U did too many rides during peak, i would have worked other apps after u completed 25 during peak and then focused on the remaining 40 during non-peak.

They shud give u the remaining by Tuesday and u get paid on Wednesday morning.

I'm kind of glad that I did more peak rides than needed, because I actually was under the impression that afternoon peak was 4 PM - 7 PM (3 hours), but just this morning I looked and saw that afternoon peak hours are 5 PM - 7 PM (2 hours). Only 5 rides were affected, and I was well above the 25 required peak rides.

I do not have accounts with other apps (yet). If I ever see a good sign-on bonus or guarantee with Lyft, then I'll give them a try and work toward meeting those requirements to get the bonus. I'm not down with the Israeli app... Via or whatever. There's something about Israelis that make me not trust them with my personal information or with my livelihood. I would really only consider Lyft, but there would have to be a bonus involved. I'm not a career driver. I'm just here to hit the bonuses and guarantees, then I'm leasing out my car for another driver to make some cash.

Let's see....

First, I went for a couple of rides this morning just to bring my trip total above the 65 minimum... just to be sure! My net is now about $800.

Next, tolls say: $75.

I have no car payment. I wash my own car (only once this week). I don't have my gas receipts with me, but I did put gas in it every day because I don't like to go below half full. I'll tally these up and report back.

Uber said I was online 35 hours. I was in the car longer... probably a total of 40 hours.

Still, if I earned $800 by sitting in the car during those times and Uber is gonna add another $700 because of the guarantees, then that's pretty cool. That's about $37.50 / hour.

***Uber said the guarantee is based on net pay.... so I think this means tolls would be additional. So, my pay should actually be $1,575 for the week .... rather than giving me a flat $1,500 where I have to deduct about $75 for the tolls. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm nonetheless thankful to be able to earn this $1,500 while I'm off work at my real job and still getting a pay check from my real job. This is a pretty cool hook-up!

You will get the pay the Tuesday after each week you complete the incentive. I think the more glaring factor is that you can easily see that once the $1500 guarantee is up, you will work 35-40 hours a week and only pull in $800 and still have to factor in costs for gas, insurance, vehicle maintenance and taxes. To even have a chance at $1500 a week, you would need to work 70-80 hours a week or double what you are doing. Which goes to the repeated point brought up by many in this forum...you will have to bust your ass big time and work LONG hours to make anything close to decent money. But if this is supplemental income, like it is for me, and you can work 35-40 hours a week in the evenings and weekends, then it's not bad for secondary income but you have to keep your overall expenses as low as possible. For example, those renting a car incur a lot more expenses than those that own their vehicle outright.

Also, I forgot...you should also get the $250 sign up bonus (what used to be the Uber Card) and the $500 bonus for 40 rides in your first 7 days of activation in your first pay check.

Just did my first week. I got activated and started driving on Friday night, so what I made on the weekend is just an extra bonus. The actual week that counts toward the incentive started Monday, 2/27 (highlighted in green). Attached is a break down of my earnings.

It's pretty good with the incentive but I probably won't continue driving after the incentive, unless driving night/early-morning hours is significantly more lucrative (I've done my first week hours between 6:30AM-11:30PM, mostly in Manhattan).

If the hourly average really turns out to be ~$20/hr it just wouldn't make sense. Once I have to start renting a car (~$360 a week, right now I'm in my first 2 weeks free rental) that would bring the hourly down to ~$12.80/hr if I work 50 hrs a week. Even if I purchase a car and am able to get the monthly expense down to $600 a month including car payment and insurance then the hourly would be ~$17/hr at 50hrs a week.

None of this takes in to account time spent driving in to manhattan/driving home after driving or time spent filling up with gas/cleaning the car etc. After taking in to account the high risk of bodily harm and the high stress levels from driving in the city I don't see how this could ever make sense financially, unless you already own your own car/do it part time to supplement your income/only drive when incentives are offered.

I didn't get a sign-up bonus. I only received the $300 in my first check for completing 40 trips and I'll be getting the $1,500/week for 4 weeks.

Uber screwed me. When the person referred me, she was supposed to get $500 when I got activated and I was supposed to get a bonus of $700 when taking my first 40 rides. Well, I clicked the link in the invitation and accepted the offer. Well, I then went thru the TLC process and such, which took only 2-3 weeks. And, when I finally got activated, the dude at Greenlight office was talking about the incentives have decreased.

I emailed Uber and they asked me for a screenshot, but how am I supposed to provide a screenshot ? With their sophisticated systems, they definitely should know what the incentive was when I was recruited. It's a terrible way to begin a partnership, but that's why I'm simply gonna take as much money from them as I can in these first 4 weeks (the guarantee) and stop driving for them. If anything, I'll drive for Lyft on the weekends (since I will be back working at my full time job in a couple of weeks....) but no more Uber.
