5 Minute cancellation fee??

992 Views 9 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  Gretzky
Twice this week I cancelled a pax at the 6 minute mark because they didnt show up or just weren't at the pick up, and both times I didn't get the $5 cancellation fee that we used to be able to get before they changed the feature on phones. Is that 5 minute cancellation fee still in effect?

Take a look at these pictures.Even though I'm right on top of the addresses and it does say "rider has been notified " , but I'm "two minutes away".
You have to wait until it says o min, then start your five min count.
I had few , that didn't get paid, but after an email got my $5.

Are you serious? That's how it works now? You have to wait for the app lag (around 2 mins?) to register you being in front of the address? That's ****ing stupid.

You dont actually wait 1 or 2 min, maybe 20 to 40 sec. then it'll go to 0 min. that's when you can start your 5 min. count.
Things change in uberland daily bases and I do test lot of stuff out there ,in my experience as of today, you start your 5 min count when it is o min.
It we would be nice if that stop watch would automaticly start the count down. Why even have it their and not do that.

Oh, I get it, you programmers build in job security for yourselves.

Also had to restart the phone 3 in 12 trips today to get the start trip slider to turn green. That's 75%, you need to maintain 90% or better.
A few nights ago I got ****ed out of a cancellation fee for 7 minutes, just to be sure it was well over 5. Emailed Uber. Response of the classic runaround of needing the trip ID number, which means logging into the dashboard when all they have to do is look at the time & your account to know the trip. I wasn't willing to dance for Uber & blew it off. It shouldn't take any more work than one email.

The point is, the 5 minute cancellation fee is undependable now.

3 minutes is my new 5 minutes. Especially when you've spent more than a couple minutes to get to them while they watch on their phone. Get your ass outside, *****.
