Been sitting at home with app on for 4 hours and not a single ping, there have been 2 surges all around me and I have had one ping that cancelled as soon as I accepted it.

Of course when I attempt to go off line, I get the notice asking if I am sure because it is SO busy around me !!!!!

Too many drivers. Chances are they were able to get one 2 minutes closer than you.

Watch National Geographic Wild while sitting at home.

Animals have territories to continue their livelihood.

Then look in Uber rider app and find out if you have any territory.

Chances are, you might be surrounded by a bunch of other cars and there is no territory left for you.

I don't expect you to go out and literally fight other drivers to reclaim your territory like in animal kingdom.
But, you can go out and away from the cluster ([email protected]#$k) of drivers that make it impossible for you to get a ping.
Stay towards the outer skirts facing densely populated areas where you see less cars (if this is even possible nowadays) and you will get more pings.

From where you stand, you should be the closest car to a densely populated area. Otherwise, you will never get a ping.

Same here. 4 hours, no pings. No cars around yet, I'm the only one available. I too am at home.
