1) The icon is actually a clipboard. You can call/text the pax from that screen, as well as see their rating. Most pax don't wish to be bothered with a call unless necessary, so I wouldn't call unless, again, it's necessary.#1. I read on here that to call a pax while in route there is an icon in the top right hand corner to click on. The only icon I have is of a microphone, is that it?
#2. How do you cancel a ride? Just let it ping out?
I had 6 U-pool requests today. On one another pax requested a ride. My Pax said NO WAY. I took the 1st pax to their destination, completed the ride and then accepted the 2nd. About that time the 2nd canceled. Out of the 6 U-pool req
2) You can refuse a ride by letting it ping out. If you've accepted a ride (happens often when you were reaching for a button and the request comes in and you accidentally touch it), you can also cancel it from the same clipboard menu as the one to contact the pax.
3) Then the cheap bastard shouldn't be requesting UberPOOL rides if he doesn't want extra people on board. You probably shouldn't accept them either - Uber had to agree as part of a lawsuit not to deactivate drivers for too many pings left unaccepted (but they can still put you in a 5-20 minute time-out).
