Got a ticket in westwood loading a passenger in red zone.... meter maid came up and did not even tell me i was getting a ticket.... lesson learned..... went out last friday ....new attitude be careful when picking up and dropping off people..... 3rd ride was on 7th and hope near starbucks was looking for a place to park temp was reversing on side with hazards on. Up pulls up a metermaid and before i have a chance to react he gets out and starts writing my plate number..... serious.... just a second in the red..... i read online about how corrupt la parking enforcement is.....what i got was a gotcha ticket..... really. How can they sleep at night....anyone have any thoughts?

Saw a UPS truck with three tickets on the windshield. It is such bs. So tired of LA and how corrupt it is. They ticket the UPS trucks all day. They are all pieces of shit!!!

They can't even let a person earn an honest days wage. Carry a tazer gun, at least get something out of it. At least you'll earn the assault charge.

My friday was so ruined i was so scared to pickup someone that night..... most riders want to be dropped off right in front (red zone)and if i don't. ...there goes my ratings.... a no win situation
Pull your plates off your car or steal someone else's plates for the night.

i got one of those ticket where the meter maid just comes up behind you to get a plate and then runs off

a few weeks after i paid it i read something on here that they can't do that anymore

they have to tell you something or give you a chance to move

might be worth fighting

In the CPUC document re: driving safety, that we had to acknowledge before we could log on states " No Pick Up or Drop Off in Red Zone or Bus Zones"

Be careful of parking in Taxis Only stops in WeHo, as they will ticket you immediately if they catch you doing so.

Well, maybe luck is on my side, but I never got ticket for loading/unloading passengers on restricted zones.
Once I was on permitted area, saw parking control guy was giving tickets right and left. I was hanging out, drinking coffee and smoking cigarette on someone's space. He just asked me if I'm gonna move soon. I said- two minutes, and I'm not here anymore. That's it.

An ex cop told me stopping in red was legal, unless there's a no stopping at any time sign that's visible. Parking obviously is illegal. It may be different in each city, I guess.

I had this bs happen to me in Santa Monica, on the 2000 block of Santa Monica. My bro literally hands me the envelope a day after it expired. "Dude, this came for you. I forgot to give it to you. " They said I stopped in the red zone. I checked Google Earth and went back. No red zone on that block. Bs ticket they didn't expect me to fight. I called and spoke to a supervisor. They told me I still had to pay because it was a traffic violation to stop and drop off. I tell him that if that was the case, why hadn't they given me a ticket for that and instead of writing me down for a being "parked in a redzone". He agrees with me, finally, but states that since it's expired I still have to pay.. because "it's Santa Monica, and we do things differently here". Absolute garbage. I don't trust anyone with the mail now.

2 Christmases ago I was parked on a side street right by Sunset to go to Chase Bank ATM....I put in a quarter for 6 minutes, and when I cam out this meter maid was just pulling up.

Me: I'm moving

Him: Too late, I already started writing

Me: You weren't even parked yet

Him (Walking up to my car): I could have given you 2 tickets for not having wheels turned out on a hill

Me: Seriously? That's the Christmas spirit

Him: It doesn't matter what day it is

Me (right before flooring it): Work for it a'hole, do research and mail me the effen ticket.

I don't think anything is more infuriating than this crap.

Beware for those that think low taxes are an answer to anything.

Government will get their revenue.

That is the general meaning yes. A Euphemism. That said, one of the most purely parasitic/vampiric jobs in the known universe, is the meter maid. It serves the primary purpose of sucking money from other people for the city.
Your point is well taken but in your calculations did you consider the career of master vampire in the Hymelboch region of the galaxy Pzy€fir♧ Codo_Oy¿l? Trust me, those are some of the most vampiric sumbiches you'll ever run across!
