I picked up a 5 rider from Hotel Monteleone during 1.5x surge last night, and got no surge for it. He admitted it was his first ride. I thought, egh, he may be going to the airport since it was around 3am. Took him to around UNO, no surge. I figure, since his ride was basically free, Uber didn't allow surge as to not pay me from their own pockets! Anyone else have this happen?

It's possible the map didn't refresh to reflect that the surge had ended when you picked up the pax.
If you feel like it should have been surge, send an email for a fare review to uber. They could adjust it for you.

The surge had just started about 1.5 mins or less into it when I got the hit.
