They need to collect the $25,000 annual fee the state is charging to become legal...who did you think would pay for that?

Using real world math and word definitions you are correct as a fare is defined as "the money a person has to pay for transportation" ... uber defines fare as "the hypothetical amount a person has to pay if the amount was strictly calculated as time and distance". Also uber technically charges the booking fee to the driver and collects it from th pax on our behalf which doesn't make any sense because the pax pays it directly to uber but hey it's uber land where they just make up new definitions like even the definition of ride sharing itself

Get this, on a .87 minimum ride, a new driver (25%) only gets 55% of the total fare now.

How does that make you feel? Violated?
Yes... A rider figured that out for me on a Lyft destination ride (Lyft is bad on destination rides between NJ and PA). His son drives so I told him to not do rides more then 10 min away, explained mileage and minutes. Plus for a destination drive the app took me back over the toll bridge... He showed me his 6.8 fee, I show him my 3.84 pay, plus told him I paid the toll. He gave me a 10 tip and told me he may not let his son drive any more.
