SF usually leads the way (in some instances) & should have been one of the first Cities to institute quarantine due to its #1 industry being tourism.
Wow, worst of Covid-19 not expected to peak before July or August. That is going to deeply impact SF. Maybe no Folsom St. Fair 2020 or Pride parade which usually is late June.
OTOH, everything in SF is EXTREMELY politically driven.

It stops short of being an enforceable quarantine, but the message should be clear: the rate of infection has to slow down in order to give healthcare workers a fighting chance to handle the expected spike in emergency admissions.
In the meantime, you can still go out for essential needs (supermarket, etc.), but people really should use common sense and exercise good judgment when going outdoors.
The shelter in place notification is a warning everyone should heed, if not for your personal safety, then for others in the community. If we don't take immediate steps to temporarily change our habits, more Draconian measures will have to follow.
