UBER will not remove a rider, UNLESS the video goes viral like that gay Trump supporter idiot, last year. In the meantime, a rider can stab you in the neck and Rideshare in general will side with him/her.
For instance, the type of people "Independent Contractors" have to deal with every day in NYC
(This is something people do on the regular to avoid surge prices, a common practice, but this time he got caught)

After this example, the algorithm will send you a crafty Copy & Paste email saying "we apologise for this experience and we've instructed our systems not to pair you with this rider, in the future." Even requesting more proof or pictures, of the mess.

I just refuse to pickup in the 'hood. But if I happen to pickup a GQ I promptly 1-star and file report. Also if on ping it's a slang nickname or just an initial I cancel.
I haven't encounter this yet but I tend to believe this is true. I totally avoid driving in those areas. If I have to take someone there. I do it but I don't take any request and stop the app. I rather loose money than driving in those areas. Don't care about surge. Less driving time in those areas = less future matches.

Look what you're missing out on. Rides like these usually mean "big" tips ?

We do something even though we are just a bunch of part time drivers
Such a joke, the math doesn't even add up...over 300,000 rides. SO 40 people who do this part time have each done over 7500 rides. In 4 years, again that's part time...that's 1,875 rides per person per year....part time...even 5 years is 1500 rides per person per year, part time...laughable. It gets better....250,000 rides on Lyft too. So 40 people part time....have done over 550,000 rides in 4-5 years. LOL

Sounds like ant numbers to me. Just saying...

You forget that part time means different things to different people. We define it as not being our principal source of income. Also, many of our drivers drove almost full time for a while when rates were good. Many of our drivers are doing full time hours when they are between contracting gigs and could do 100 rides a week with Uber and 20 or 30 on Lyft. So, the numbers totally add up.

100 rides a week is principle income whether they want to admit it or not....

I've never had an issue with the Camden variety.
I agree with that comment... I won't pickup in the Camden ghetto but obviously have dropped off there with 0 issues....

Unfortunately, GQs are 95 percent of all problem passengers for us. Rarely do men cause problems in our cars. We were just down at the Uber office last week. We must have talked to twenty men or more than half of those who were there who all stated that they had been deactivated because of some false claims from a GQ. sorry, but Uber and Lyft have an epidemic on their hands and they know it.

Our driver group comprises over 40 men who have over 300,000 Uber rides in NJ and NYC between us. We are close to 250,000 Lyft rides. We have a broader community of at least another 100 plus drivers we know including a few women. Our experience with GQs is consistent and validated by the posters on this site. You don't drive anymore and don't have our experience to draw on so I will discount your opinion on this topic.
This is nothing but fantasy.... I have 3 years part time experience and over 6000 rides combined on both apps. I can count on one hand the serious issues I've encountered. I rarely make less then $1000 per week (when I set time aside) and as high as $1850 including cash tips and promos before expenses. I also know 8-10 drivers that combined haven't experienced anything like the things you speak of....

You add Kurt Angle to the mix, your chances drastic go down

I've picked up and dropped off in the hood. Never had a problem outside of an *occasional* low rating.

Another week of our drivers doing their job and five of us get deactivated for smelling like pot, driving drunk and trying to sex up the GQs we dropped home safely to the ghetto. We have now just decided that every passenger who even has a hint of GQ and lives in the hood will receive a one star for behavior and a safety report. We will make note of every drop off address of the egregious GQs and reinstate our punishment strategy of gifts on doorsteps to remind them of their conduct towards drivers. These people are becoming a virus on ride share driving. Uber and Lyft do nothing to protect drivers as they are too paranoid of being accussd of racism.

We we're just down at the Uber office this week and chatted with other drivers. Half of the men in the room had received similar charges. The Uber staff are powerless to do anything as they have to wait for the safety team to authorize reinstatement.

I know that we are only 40 drivers in Bergen County but we have enough critical mass to make a bit of a difference. If anyone else wants to join in let us know.
I'm in... what do I do?

You're FUBAR... just observin'
Except welfare has been revamped for years now. Time is limited. They also force the adult to look for work.
"Forcing" them to look for work consists of them filling out a form online with a bunch of made up information. I've got a friend who works for the agency that administers welfare. The system is a joke and everyone in his department knows it.

Once they're on it .... It's almost impossible to get them off of it. And many people are gaming the system and collecting welfare in 2 or more states at the same time using friends addresses etc.

Sure beats driving for Uber I guess ?

In terms of ghetto people in general ghetto queens are far worse than thugs.
I can attest to that. I've tossed a few GQ's in my Uber career. Usually because they started acting up the minute they got into my car. If you're going to act like an animal I'm not taking you anywhere.

I have a cousin that had to go on welfare a while back. They actually made appointments for him to him on interviews for jobs. It got interesting when the fact that he's legally blind got in the way of him maneuvering a way to get to the interviews. His wife would have to take time off her own minimum wage job to drive him, thus rendering them even poorer.

The system being a joke doesn't just mean some recipients game it. It also means it sometimes works against those that are really in need of it, and actually plan on it being a temporary help.

Nothing wrong with people who really need it getting welfare from the government. But welfare was never intended to be a cradle to grave entitlement. If the government would stop giving these people a raise every time they have another kid with their 5th different father maybe the would alter their behaviour a little bit.

I have personally picked up at least a half dozen GQ's and taken them to that prison in Newark to visit with "their man". One who I had to eject before the ride even started for being rude.

Talk about fantasy ? You rarely make less than $1000 a week ? You must drive about 100 hours a week ... with a trunk filled with Poland Spring and various candy treats. I'm not buying it.

Is that good or bad?
It's terrible. It means you're driving Hudson county taking every ping and they're in the $3.71-8.00 range (mostly minimum fare though @$3.71).

It's easy to gross $1k a week. It's all about where you drive and when you drive.
