I drive full time for Uber/Lyft in PHX. I know I can't drive out of state for Uber but know I can for Lyft. I've driven in many other states before but never in Vegas. It appears it's a little trickier in vegas due to the business permits and TNC permit you're required to get. It appears I can get the business licenses for $225 and have those immediately. So the TNC permit (which I've read is very important) seems to be the only trouble spot. I arrive in Vegas on a Thursday and the HUB is open that day so maybe I should check with the HUB to see if they can get me a TNC Permit number for the 10 days I'm in town.

I know you guys hate the threads about business licenses and such but I think this one is a little different and will provide valuable information for other drivers.

By the way...McGregor +550 is the bet

Lol take it easy. I didn't ask about the business permits since i read about 100 threads about those. This is a completely different topic IMO

The TNC permits, and the ability of out of town drivers to get ANY of the permits is a different topic than the ones that show up daily about the business licenses

You can't. End of story. The hub wants a NV license and NV plates and NV insurance. Have fun in Vegas. Stop trying to take money from people who live and work here and just have a vacation. Or do whatever you want I could care less. I'll just think terrible thoughts over here and smoke a fat dab

Other states have the requirements for in state drivers license, in state insurance, etc that you're talking about and drivers from other states are exempt from those rules for up to 30 days at a time. So I'm not worried about that part so much. It's just the TNC permit that's got me stressin. I work full time doing this so the whole don't take money from the locals thing is shit. People come to my state for spring training, and other big events and take business away from me. One extra driver won't kill you

I wasn't going to comment on this post, but since you said it won't kill you, and my thought was just the opposite of that, here goes. Driving rideshare and or taxi on the strip in Las Vegas is an extremely hazardous job. You are very likely, since you don't know the city, pickup/dropoff locations, and surrounding areas, to be at a much greater risk than someone who has time to get to know the area. You can't expect to just drive up and down Las Vegas Blvd and make money, do you will end up very frustrated a long way from business at times. You also will be likely to get stuck in traffic for up to an hour to go a mile or two. This isn't a hate filled response to your question, just a slight reality check. You would really probably be much better off just enjoying your trip, rather that taking the risks involved. But for answers on the TNC permit, just see the Uner or Lyft office, as they would be the one to issue it.

I appreciate your thoughtful response. Driving in any new city is always tough and doing it over a major fight weekend and Labor Day weekend would probably make it much tougher than usual even.

With that said I like challenges and know my way around town pretty well. So I may see if I can figure out how to work Thursday night. My friends all get in Friday so I won't be driving Friday-Sunday. But then I've got Monday-Wednesday the following week that I'm free before college football starts on that Thursday of Labor Day weekend

Could you please come back and post here when you find out what Uber/Lyft say about driving while in town. Thanks!

Lyft just told me as long as I have 3 things I'm good to go. The state business license, county business license, and the TNC permit.

From the convos I've had with other people who have gone to vegas and turned on the app it will give you requests before you even provide proof of any of these 3 things. There is just major fines if you're caught doing this

Like I said, the Lyft office issues the TNC sticker that you have to have in your window. It will be interesting to see if the office here gives you one, or tells you something different. I'm just curious how it turns out once you go there.

I'll report back on Thursday. One thing is for sure. If they tell me I can't get a permit I will not be driving, driving without the right permits; that's just Fing stupid

Just spent $225 to get my business licenses. No issue there

The business license is a joke unfortunately. It is required, and they can check for them, but it's really just a fee to the state and county. They're happy to take anyone's money.

So your coming Thursday and expecting to drive one of the most chaotic nights, fight night. Save yourself a ton of aggravation and just enjoy yourself. You will get a fined for driving if NTA finds you.
I said I won't drive if I can't do it legally so I'm not worried about the NTA.

I also said I'm not driving Friday Saturday or Sunday which will be the most chaotic. Just Thursday and Monday through Wednesday the following week

I also drive Uber Select if that makes any difference
